October 2021

October 26 is National Day of the Deployed – our opportunity to honor the men and women deployed in service to our great nation. To ensure that we’re meeting the needs of veterans who have been deployed, and the families preparing for and reuniting after deployment, we encourage you to take the Arizona Veteran Survey. We want to know how we can work to best serve the needs related to you and your family’s military service.

On the 26th of October, we mark National Day of the Deployed. This is our opportunity to honor all of the men and women in the United States military who are deployed in service to our great nation. As many of us well know, any deployment is a family event. There’s the work that has to be done to get ready for the deployment, the effort it takes to keep communication and relationships strong during the deployment (not to mention the work of the deployment mission and the work that continues on the homefront), and the work it takes for everyone to integrate back into a family unit when the deployment ends.

As veterans, family members and those who love and support them – we do this enormous amount of work heroically because it is “what we do” and what we know. Know that Be Connected is here for you, your deployed loved ones and those on the homefront before, during and after a deployment. We can provide support and resources that can help ease things when it comes to financial, educational, housing and wellness needs- just to name a few. This is all available by calling 866-4AZ-VETS (866-429-8387).

Be Connected is here for everyone. Who couldn’t use an extra pair of hands, help with essential needs like food or housing, or a review of their benefits to see if more support is waiting for our application? We hear from families all the time whose lives have been changed for the better by making that call. The more we know about what type of support you need, the more we can tailor our services to you and your family.

hat’s exactly the point of the Arizona Veteran Survey. We conduct this survey every two years to ask Arizona’s 500,000+ service members, veterans, and their families how we can better support them – in every phase of life from readying for basic training all the way through each stage of a military career, through and beyond retirement.

To make sure we know what your family needs, how we can use our resources to help you the most, we ask that you complete and share the 2021 Arizona Veteran Survey. Responses to the survey are confidential. We work with the respected data scientists at Arizona State University to develop the survey and aggregate the data into actionable reports that help inform our decisions.

We hope you’ll take a moment to complete the survey for your own family and in recognition of the families who have service members deployed so we can create resources now for when these future veterans need our state’s care and support.

We honor and thank every service member, veteran and their families and ask for the protection and safe return for all who are deployed.
