Communities: Coming Together

The importance of community support for service members, veterans, and their families cannot be overstated. Be Connected exemplifies this commitment through a robust network of over 400 organizations, united in their mission to serve Arizona’s 500,000+ service members, veterans and their families.

Communities can commit to supporting the Be Connected  Guidelines for Care—principles specifically designed by and for the military and veteran community to ensure their unique needs are met with respect, understanding, and holistically. When community members come together to show how much they recognize and honor the service and sacrifice made by service members, veterans and their families – it generates a feeling of care and support and the community grows stronger.

Communities can bring together members of the Be Connected network and become local or regional force that builds on Arizona’s reputation for being a military and veteran supportive community.

How Can Your Community Get Involved?

Gather virtually each quarter with your neighbors as part of the Be Connected Community Network (BCCN). Hear from community organizers and learn about ways to get involved.

Find out about upcoming events and make a plan to attend, take notes then share the information among your network, neighborhood Facebook group, or community center.

Attend the annual Statewide Symposium in Support of Service Members, Veterans and Their Families each year in April. A limited number of scholarships are available to ensure cost is not a barrier to attending. Take notes and share with your community groups.

Review recordings from past events and share the links with your community’s Facebook group, community center or a neighbor.
