We operate under the Guidelines for Care, aligning our practices with a consistent, evidence-informed standard across providers and systems. Our role is to complement your clinical care, coordinating resources and reducing practical barriers so your clients can stay engaged in treatment. Be Connected services are confidential and offered at no cost statewide to Arizona service members, veterans, and their family members.

We work in close coordination with a network of federal, state, and local partners to ensure that every referral results in timely, appropriate, and effective support.

Federal partners:

  • These partnerships help us navigate VA benefits, health services, and military transition resources to support your clients.

State partners:

  • The State of Arizona, the Governor’s Office of Youth, Faith and Family, the Arizona Department of Veterans’ Services, the Arizona Department of Economic Security, and the Arizona Department of Health Services

Local community partners:

Be Connected has a long history of supporting Arizona service members, veterans, and their family members. Be Connected is built on principles that prioritize dignity, coordination, and trust. Our approach centers on respectful partnerships, clear standards, and a shared goal of supporting the whole person, not just the presenting issue.

  • Reliable standards: Our Guidelines for Care were created in partnership with service members, veterans, and their families, so the work is tailored to their needs. Read the complete Guidelines for Care at ConnectVeterans.org/Guidelines.
  • Position of Strength: We believe is a strength-based perspective that recognizes and celebrates the inherent strengths, resilience, and capabilities of our service members, veterans, and their families.
  • Statewide reach, no cost: Be Connected serves as the entry point for Arizona service members, veterans, and their families to find resources and support for all of the social determinants of health. We provide no-cost support to help anywhere in Arizona, so that cost is never a barrier to support.
  • Upstream Approach: Our mission is to intervene early before people and families go into crisis. We do this by providing navigation support to connect to resources across an array of needs, including employment, healthcare, housing, basic needs, education, and more.
  • Postvention is Prevention: We believe that postvention services are just as important for people who are affected by suicide.
  • Force Protection: We believe that protecting our service members, veterans, and their families is a moral imperative that extends beyond physical safety to include safeguarding the rights, interests, and futures of our service members, demanding a shield from manipulative external influences.
