The Power of a Referral

Open the Door to Support

Sometimes the people we care about need help but aren’t quite sure how to ask for it. Maybe they’re used to solving things on their own. Maybe they don’t want to be a burden. Or maybe they just don’t know what’s available. That’s where you come in.

If you know a service member, veteran, or family member in Arizona who could use support, one of the most meaningful things you can do is make a referral to the Be Connected program. It’s a simple step that can be the start of a real change for someone you care about.

Why Referrals Matter

Life doesn’t come with a how-to guide. When someone’s facing a challenge, whether it’s coordinating healthcare after an emergency room visit, concerns about access to housing, involvement with the justice system, mental health needs, navigating a career, tackling loneliness, or coping with the loss of someone to suicide, it’s not always obvious where to turn. Some people hesitate to ask for help. Others aren’t even sure what to ask for. And many don’t even know that Be Connected exists, or that there’s a team of people ready to listen, care, and connect them to trusted support.

That’s why referrals are so powerful. By making a referral to Be Connected, you’re not just offering a phone number or a website—you’re opening the door to real, compassionate, one-on-one support. Our team takes the time to listen, understand the situation, and guide each person to the right resources, programs, or services based on their needs.

Referrals Can Lead To:

  • Access to mental and physical health resources
  • Support with housing, employment, or other basic needs concerns
  • Connection to benefits and legal services specifically for Arizona veterans
  • Opportunities to build community and reduce isolation
  • Navigation support for systems that can be overwhelming

Who Can Make a Referral?

The answer is simple: Anyone. You can refer someone you care about, and even yourself.

It only takes a minute to get started.

  1. Visit ConnectVeterans.org/Referral.
  2. Select the general referral option at the top of the page, or choose a specific program that fits the situation.
  3. Fill out the short form with basic contact information.
  4. Our team will follow up directly to see how we can help.

A Simple Action With a Big Impact

A referral might seem like a small thing, but it could be exactly what someone needs at the right moment. When you make a referral, you’re helping to break down barriers to care. You’re showing someone that support is within reach and that they’re not alone in figuring it all out.

Your action today could lead to better outcomes tomorrow for someone you know, someone in your workplace, someone in your community, and even yourself.

Make the referral and open the door to support.
