  • U.S. Coast Guard Birthday

    This day recognizes the dedication and service of the Coast Guard’s brave men and women who have protected the country’s maritime interests for over two centuries.

  • Purple Heart Day

    Purple Heart Day is observed on August 7 to commemorate the creation of the Purple Heart. The Purple Heart is a military decoration awarded to those who have been wounded or killed in action, and it is the oldest military award still given to U.S. service members.

  • Operation Starlite

    Operation Starlite, conducted from August 18 to 24, 1965, was the first major offensive by U.S. Marines during the Vietnam War.

  • ACMF Birthday

  • U.S. Withdraws from Afghanistan

    The United States completed its troop withdrawal from Afghanistan on August 30, 2021, ending nearly two decades of military involvement.

  • Patriot Day – September 11

    September 11, often referred to as 9/11 or Patriots Day, is a day of remembrance that commemorates the attacks that took place on September 11, 2001, when terrorists hijacked four commercial airplanes and carried out coordinated attacks.

  • Williams Veteran StandDown

    Williams Recreation Center 300 W. Railroad Avenue, Williams, AZ

    StandDown events provide veterans with the opportunity to connect face-to-face with service providers, peers, and community organizations that are invested in their well-being.

  • Inchon Landing

    The Battle of Inchon, codenamed Operation Chromite, was a pivotal amphibious assault during the Korean War, conducted from September 15 to 19, 1950.

  • U.S. Air Force Birthday

    This annual observance that commemorates the establishment of the Air Force as a separate branch of the United States military on September 18, 1947.

  • POW/MIA Recognition Day

    This day honors and remembers the sacrifices and contributions of U.S. Prisoners of War (POWs) and those Missing in Action (MIA) while serving their country.

  • Battle of Seoul (Second)

    The Second Battle of Seoul (September 20–28, 1950) saw UN forces recapture Seoul from North Korean control during the Korean War.
