PREVENTS Executive Order Signing Ceremony

Veteran suicide prevention is now a national priority, with a new initiative promoting collaboration among federal, state, and local agencies. The plan emphasizes seamless mental health care, research, and community engagement to reduce veteran suicide and honor the sacrifices of those who served. President Trump signed Executive Order 13861.

March 5, 2019 – President Trump signed Executive Order 13861 calling on the Departments of Veterans Affairs, Defense, Health and Human Services and others to develop a comprehensive strategy for ending the national tragedy of suicide. This event includes remarks by Thomas Winkel, the Director of the Arizona Coalition for Military Families (28:09).
