The significance of July 4th lies in its recognition of the American ideals of liberty, democracy, and self-determination, which have become a cornerstone of our nation's identity. The holiday is an opportunity to reflect on the sacrifices made by those who fought for American independence and to renew the country's commitment to upholding the principles enshrined in the Declaration of Independence.

National Hire a Veteran Day

National Hire a Veteran Day serves to raise awareness about the importance of hiring veterans, and to encourage businesses to provide support and resources for veterans as they enter the civilian workforce.

From Battlefields to Healing: The Bipolar General’s Journey

Join Be Connected and the Arizona VA Health Care Systems on 8/6/2024 at 10 AM MST for a virtual event featuring Major General Gregg F. Martin, PhD, US Army (Retired). Gen. Martin will share his personal experience of grappling with bipolar disorder during his military service and his transition to civilian life.

Women Veterans Military Sexual Trauma (MST) Focus Group

Attention Women Veterans! Your experiences matter. Join the VA for a special focus group hosted by the Women Veterans Program and Dr. Alexandrova, MST Coordinator, to share your experiences using Military Sexual Trauma (MST) services within the Phoenix VA Health Care System. After the focus group, you will have the opportunity to learn how to start, increase, or reopen an MST claim that was previously denied.

Suicide Prevention Month

Suicide Prevention Month is observed during the month of September to raise awareness of the issue of suicide and promote efforts to prevent it. The month-long observance works to increase awareness of the warning signs and risk factors for suicide, reduce the stigma surrounding mental health and seeking help, and promote access to mental health resources and support.
