Carry the spirit of Independence Day past July 4 and commit to creating opportunities for veterans to lead, contribute, and thrive. Among our greatest strengths as a nation is the character of those who serve.

On July 5, 1950, a small group of U.S. soldiers from the 24th Infantry Division, took up defensive positions near Osan, South Korea, to try and slow the rapid advance of North Korean forces. It was the first U.S. ground engagement of the Korean War.
