Independence Day
July 4
July 4th, also known as Independence Day, is a federal holiday that commemorates the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. The Declaration of Independence announced the separation of the 13 American colonies from British rule, marking the birth of the United States of America as a new nation. The day is celebrated with parades, fireworks displays, picnics, and other festivities that honor our country’s history and values. The significance of July 4th lies in its recognition of the American ideals of liberty, democracy, and self-determination, which have become a cornerstone of our nation’s identity. The holiday is an opportunity to reflect on the sacrifices made by those who fought for American independence and to renew the country’s commitment to upholding the principles enshrined in the Declaration of Independence.
