Description: Join the Heard Museum for the 14th Annual American Indian Veterans Day & Sunset Tribute, honoring American Indian veterans. The Veterans Day event takes place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., followed by the Sunset Tribute from 5 to 7 p.m. Community organizations will be on site to share information.
- Enjoy veteran artist demonstrations, stories by veterans, Native music and dance, a special film screening, family art activities, and more.
- Witness a special Sunset Tribute commemorating the 14th Anniversary of the American Indian Veterans National Memorial.
Michael Naranjo, Keynote Speaker
The Heard Museum is honored to welcome Michael Naranjo (Santa Clara Pueblo) as keynote speaker for this event. An acclaimed Tewa sculptor, Vietnam veteran, and nationally recognized advocate for Native veterans, Naranjo transformed a life-changing combat injury that left him blind into an extraordinary artistic career. Through his powerful sculptures and inspiring story of resilience, courage, and service, he has touched audiences around the world. His keynote will honor the sacrifices of American Indian veterans while celebrating the enduring strength, leadership, and spirit of Native art.
