Supporting a Terminally Ill Veteran
A connection coach provided Coaching Into Connection services to a terminally ill, disabled veteran living alone in an RV, without running water and no family living nearby. As you can imagine, the stress the veteran felt was heavy. The connection coach worked with local caring neighbors to check on the client daily and find ways to make the veteran’s remaining days as comfortable and positive as possible.
Tackling Social Isolation
A community member took the time to make a Coaching Into Connection referral to the Be Connected support line for a veteran. The caller was aware that the veteran had recently moved to Arizona and was feeling socially isolated, with no friends or family nearby. After talking with the connection coach about ways to get involved in the community, the veteran sees a more hopeful future with new ways to connect with others.Â
