How the Be Connected Network Helped Turn One Gold Star Family’s Challenge into an Opportunity for Stability
Tempe, AZ – (Feb. 9, 2025) – The Arizona Coalition for Military Families (ACMF) recently celebrated a truly special moment in Tempe, Arizona, alongside our incredible partners. Thanks to the National Auto Body Council (NABC) Recycled Rides® program and the generosity of GEICO, Enterprise, and Brightwood Collision Center, a Gold Star Family was gifted a beautifully refurbished vehicle, providing them with a renewed sense of stability and mobility.
The ACMF was connected to the Gold Star Family in 2024 when they were assisted through the Be Connected Transportation Program. ACMF funded critical repairs to the family’s vehicle, easing some of the financial strain. However, as the vehicle issues persisted, a new opportunity arose when NABC Recycled Rides® connected with ACMF. The Gold Star Family was identified as an ideal candidate for this program and eventually selected through NABC’s vetting process.
This event was made possible through the collective effort of many generous partners. GEICO donated the vehicle, Brightwood Collision Center refurbished it with care and expertise, and Enterprise provided critical support through their community partnership.
As the Gold Star Family received the keys, they shared their gratitude for the impact this gift would have on their lives. The vehicle represents far more than transportation; it’s a lifeline for maintaining stability and building a brighter future.
This milestone is a testament to the power of collaboration and the unwavering dedication of organizations and individuals committed to supporting Arizona’s service members, veterans, and their families. It is one of many examples of how the Arizona Coalition for Military Families connects service members, veterans, and their families to helpful resources and support.
We are honored to have such dedicated partners alongside us in our collective mission to support Arizona’s service members, veterans, and families. If you or someone you know needs support, call the Be Connected support line at 866-4AZ-VETS (866-429-8387).
