Sierra Vista, AZ – (Nov. 27, 2024) – Navigating the federal hiring process can be complex, but for veterans and their families, the right support can make all the difference. That’s why Be Connected’s Career Navigation Team, in collaboration with the Department of Economic Security’s Veteran Workforce Development Program, hosted a federal resume workshop at ARIZONA@WORK Southeastern Arizona in Cochise County. This tailored, in-person training was designed to equip workforce development professionals with the tools and knowledge needed to better support veterans in their career journeys.

Led by Certified Federal Resume Consultant Hans Graefe, alongside Career Specialist Casey Fogle and Career Navigation Coordinator Karla Goehring, the two-hour workshop provided participants with a comprehensive deep dive into federal hiring. Attendees gained expert insights on veteran and spouse hiring preferences, decoding USAJobs.gov announcements, crafting effective federal resumes, understanding occupational groups and families, and navigating the interview and selection process.

The session wrapped up with a networking lunch, hosted by the Be Connected Career Navigation Team, fostering connections and sparking valuable discussions. The success of the workshop was made possible through the dedicated coordination and logistical support of Teresa Celestine and Jerry Currier from the Department of Economic Security’s Veteran Workforce Development team, ensuring a seamless and impactful event.
