Paris Peace Accords Signed

January 27, 2027

The Paris Peace Accords, also known as the Agreement on Ending the War and Restoring Peace in Vietnam, was signed on January 27, 1973 in Paris, France. The agreement ended the United States’ direct military involvement in the Vietnam War. The accords were signed by representatives of the following countries: The United States, The Republic of Vietnam (South Vietnam), The Democratic Republic of Vietnam (North Vietnam), and The Provisional Revolutionary Government (Viet Cong).

The next day after the signing, President Nixon used an executive order to end the draft and establish an all-volunteer military.
