Gain the skills to recognize and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges. This evidence-based training teaches you how to provide initial support until professional help is available. Just like CPR for medical emergencies, MHFA equips you to assist in a mental health crisis or non-crisis situation.

By completing this course, you will:

  • Learn the common signs and symptoms of mental health and substance use challenges.
  • Understand how to interact with someone in distress.
  • Gain strategies to provide initial support and connect individuals to professional help.
  • Explore expanded content on trauma, substance use, and self-care.
  • Practice using the Mental Health First Aid Action Plan (ALGEE).

There is no cost to participants for this training and everyone is welcome. Directions and parking information will be emailed to registered participants.

Visit www.ConnectVeterans.org/MHFA to see additional dates and locations for this training course.
