Be Connected Partners with Rio Salado to Provide Veterans with Career Skills
Tempe, AZ – (Nov. 22, 2024) – Transitioning from military service to a civilian career comes with challenges, but with the right support, veterans can thrive in high-tech industries like microelectronics and nanomanufacturing. That’s why Be Connected’s Career Navigation Team was proud to take part in the Microelectronics and Nanomanufacturing Certificate Program for Veterans Mock Interview Workshop at Rio Salado Community College.
Emory Flagg, a dedicated member of our team, joined forces with Jessica Arroyo, Success Coach at Rio Salado, and a panel of Human Resources professionals and hiring managers to help veterans sharpen their interview skills and prepare for careers in the semiconductor industry. The event focused on students completing Rio Salado’s cutting-edge semiconductor program, giving them hands-on experience in mock interviews designed to build confidence and refine their professional presentation.
Through personalized career guidance, resume feedback, and real-world interview practice, veterans gained critical insights into what employers are looking for—helping them stand out as strong candidates in the growing field of microtechnology. This collaboration between Be Connected, Rio Salado Community College, and industry professionals is just one example of how we’re working to bridge the gap between military experience and meaningful civilian employment.
By participating in events like this, Be Connected continues its commitment to empowering veterans, ensuring they have the tools, resources, and connections to launch successful careers in Arizona’s high-tech workforce.
