Celebrating Soldier’s Best Friend’s New Tucson Location

Be Connected was proud to join community partners, veterans, and supporters to celebrate the launch of Soldier’s Best Friend’s new Tucson location.

Connecting in the Community

The Be Connected community engagement team is regularly out across Arizona — raising awareness, connecting with veterans at statewide veteran standdowns, and strengthening relationships with partner organizations that are part of the collective support available to service members, veterans, and their families.

Recently, Be Connected was delighted to support the launch of a new location for Soldier’s Best Friend in Tucson.

About Soldier's Best Friend

Strengthening Arizona’s Support Network

Soldier’s Best Friend is an Arizona-based nonprofit dedicated to pairing and training service dogs with eligible veterans at no cost to the veteran. Their work supports veterans living with post-traumatic stress disorder or traumatic brain injury by helping them build strong, supportive relationships with trained service dogs or therapeutic companion dogs. Just as importantly, many of the dogs in the program are adopted from local shelters, creating a win-win that supports both veterans and Arizona’s pet overpopulation challenge.

A trained dog can be life-changing for veterans as they continue their post-military growth and development, offering confidence and reassurance when going out in public and steady companionship in daily life. The new Tucson facility helps expand access to this support in Southern Arizona while strengthening the broader network of organizations working together across the state.

For Be Connected, community engagement is an important part of how we help make resources easier to find. Every event and partner connection helps strengthen Arizona’s support network and creates more opportunities for service members, veterans, and their families to connect with assistance that fits their needs.

We are grateful for the work of Soldier’s Best Friend and excited to see this important resource grow in Tucson and across Arizona.
