It’s really awful to think about- but there are people out there looking to take advantage of veterans, especially when it comes to making claims for benefits. The Arizona Coalition for Military Families does not want to see any veteran taken advantage of, so we’re bringing you this warning about claim predators – unaccredited entities or individuals who prey on veterans’ benefits for their own profit.
- Be wary of anyone guaranteeing that they can expedite the claims process or secure a 100% disability rating for you. Only the VA has the authority to assign disability ratings.
- Avoid agreements that bind you to pay a portion of your benefits to someone in exchange for assistance with your claim. Filing an initial claim should always be free.
