You can enroll and start this training series at any time! \n  \nMake a Difference \nBy taking the Be Connected Community Corps Helper Training\, you can strengthen your ability to give back to all who are serving and have served our country. As a trained Be Connected Community Corps Helper\, you will be a guidepost for service members\, veterans\, and their families in your neighborhood\, helping to make them feel connected and cared for. As a Community Helper\, you will be equipped with the knowledge\, skills\, and confidence to make a difference in the lives of Arizona’s military and veteran community. \n  \nAbout the Training  \nThe training series consists of 10 modules that relate to the Social Determinants of Health. Each module includes a video full of helpful information as well as a handout with key points and space to take your own notes. There will be an opportunity to ask questions and engage with our moderator and other course participants in the online community. The month-long effort includes a variety of activities\, events\, and promotions designed to raise awareness about the importance of financial planning and saving for the future\, and to help service members and their families take concrete steps toward achieving their financial goals. The ultimate goal of Military Saves Month is to promote financial readiness and resilience among military families\, and to support their overall well-being and success.

DESCRIPTION:National Former Prisoner of War Recognition Day is observed on April 9 each year to honor and recognize the sacrifices and courage of prisoners of war (POWs) and their families. This day commemorates the brave men and women who have endured the hardships and atrocities of being held captive during times of conflict. It also acknowledges the sacrifices and strength of the families who have supported and waited for their loved ones to return home. On National Former Prisoner of War Recognition Day\, Americans are encouraged to fly the POW/MIA flag and participate in ceremonies and events to honor and remember these veterans. It is also a reminder to support and care for those who have returned home as well as those who are still missing in action or held as prisoners of war.

SUMMARY:Healing of Memories Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Announcing an in-person Healing of Memories Workshop for Women Veterans. \nDates: April 12-14\, 2024 \nPlace: Franciscan Renewal Center\, 5802 E. Lincoln Dr\, Scottsdale\, AZ 85253 \nContact: To begin the registration process\, contact Mike Wold\, workshop coordinator\, at 651.687.9767 or via email at michael_w_wold@msn.com \nThe workshop will provide the participants with a safe experiential and interactive way to address anger\, loss\, grief and guilt. The workshop has been conducted for nearly 400 Arizona veterans during the last 10 years. \nThe workshop is offered free to women service members and veterans.  It begins with dinner at 6 pm on Friday\, April 12 and ends on Sunday\, April 14 at 1 pm. Those who have attended this workshop say that it was a major step in their healing from their psychological and spiritual wounds. Transportation will be provided to those who need it.

Purple Up Day serves to raise awareness of the unique challenges faced by military children\, including frequent moves\, deployments\, and separations from their loved ones. It also serves as a reminder of the resilience and strength of military kids\, who often face challenges that are not experienced by their civilian peers. The day is an opportunity for everyone to show their appreciation and support for these brave young people\, and to recognize their service and sacrifices for our country.
