DESCRIPTION:Announcing an in-person Healing of Memories Workshop for Women Veterans. \nDates: April 12-14\, 2024 \nPlace: Franciscan Renewal Center\, 5802 E. Lincoln Dr\, Scottsdale\, AZ 85253 \nContact: To begin the registration process\, contact Mike Wold\, workshop coordinator\, at 651.687.9767 or via email at michael_w_wold@msn.com \nThe workshop will provide the participants with a safe experiential and interactive way to address anger\, loss\, grief and guilt. The workshop has been conducted for nearly 400 Arizona veterans during the last 10 years. \nThe workshop is offered free to women service members and veterans.  It begins with dinner at 6 pm on Friday\, April 12 and ends on Sunday\, April 14 at 1 pm. Those who have attended this workshop say that it was a major step in their healing from their psychological and spiritual wounds. Transportation will be provided to those who need it.

DESCRIPTION:USA Wheelchair Football Championship Game – Support Veterans at this Bob Woodruff Foundation and NFL Super Bowl Event \nRegister here to join the Bob Woodruff Foundation and the NFL for the 2023 USA Wheelchair Football Championship game on February 7 at Camelback Ranch. Doors open at 10:30 am\, warmups begin at 11 am\, and the game runs from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm. We will have complimentary food trucks with hot dogs\, burgers\, nachos\, and desserts available for all spectators. With support from an NFL-Bob Woodruff Foundation (BWF) Salute to Service grant\, Move United launched the first-ever USA Wheelchair Football League for athletes with disabilities\, including veterans. The Wheelchair Football League closely resembles the NFL play style with adaptations chosen to keep the game fast-paced and enjoyable for fans and players alike. Three groups will meet via Zoom for two (2) hours each week for eight (8) weeks as follows:\nMondays from 7-9 pm on October 3\, 10\, 17\, 24\, and 31; then Mondays from 6-8 pm on November 7\, 14\, and 28.\nWednesdays from 3-5 pm on October 5\, 12\, 19\, and 26; November 2\, 9\, 16\, and 30.\nThursdays from 6-8 pm on October 6\, 13\, 20\, and 27; November 3\, 10\, and 17; December 1.\nThe groups will not meet during Thanksgiving Week.\n\nParticipation at all sessions is required\, along with the completion of weekly assignments. Each group will be composed of 4 to 6 veterans\, service members\, and VA healthcare workers. They will be accompanied by two facilitators; a mental health professional; and a clergy\, spiritual director\, or military chaplain. Sessions are conducted online using a computer\, laptop\, or tablet. A strong internet connection is a MUST (cell phone use is not recommended). Sessions will be conducted using both audio and video via Zoom.
