SUMMARY:Invasion of Iraq Begins
DESCRIPTION:The Iraq War began on March 20\, 2003\, when the US\, joined by the UK\, Australia\, and Poland\, initiated a “shock and awe” bombing campaign vowing to destroy Iraqi weapons of mass destruction (WMD) and end the dictatorial rule of Saddam Hussein. Following the bombings\, coalition forces launched a ground invasion\, defeating Iraqi forces and toppling the Ba’athist regime.
